Morningside Days

As soon as warm weather came, I would start getting excited for the end of the school year, the Morningside Day Parade and ART B THOMAS CARNIVAL at Peters Park! Fun! Fun! Fun! My pal Joanie Wallman and I would try and get the guys to take us on The Bullet and The Rock-O-Planes! The Best Times Ever!!

Sue;

      Always fun with the carnival at the park. After the parade walk over to Anderson Bakery and then across the hall into the drug store for a CHERRY COKE!!!!  Later cruise the loop with the top down in my Chev. Summer time was always the BEST.

  I remember my last time I marched with the band during "Morningside Days". I had to walk about two miles from my home up to the place where we were assembling. Well, when I got up there, I discovered that I had forgot to bring along the mouthpiece for my trumpet. I had to fake it  playing the instrument all along the parade route. Needless to say, I was teased about that for years from my family.

The only things you can take with you are the things you give away
